I am so sorry for your loss. May 'the God of all comfort' (2 Corinthians 1:3,4) comfort and soothe your heart. His promises, found in the Holy Scriptures, can offer much hope. It assures us at John 5:28,29 that our loved ones will be remembered and brought back to life in the resurrection. Please allow God's Word to strengthen you and help you to endure this most difficult time.

My deepest sympathy to the Ament family in the loss of Jill. I was two years older than Jill in high school. I remember seeing her around school and she always seemed to be in a good mood, smiling, and being friendly to everyone she was around. May you find comfort in all of the wonderful memories that you have of Jill. God bless your family.

I would like to express my sincerest condolences to Jill's family. I am very sorry to hear of Jill's passing. I met Jill at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Washington, DC; she was my sponsor as I completed the RCIA process many years ago (in 1994). I will always remember her smile and vibrant energy. She brought blessings to all who knew her. May Jill rest in peace, and I hope that her family continues to find solace at this time.

I was privileged to work with Jill during a political campaign in 1980. In an environment where cutthroat is not out of the norm, Jill was always caring and unselfish toward others. We kept up a communication and friendship over the next three decades. When we would visit D.C. we usually stayed with Jill. She always rolled out the red carpet for us. A good soul has passed; we will miss her but will continue to enjoy great memories. Condolences to the Ament family; not many come along like Jill.

I was lucky enough to work with Jill at the National Housing Trust. She was incredibly caring and dedicated to all the staff and the residents that live in our communities. Her enthusiasm and energy fueled the organization. It will be sorely missed. We will carry on our work in her memory.

Dear Mary/family all: I learned of Jill's passing into Eternal Life from Rosie at I.C. Though still away from home for a couple more weeks and will not be able to attend her funeral, I remembered Jill and you all at my Ash Wednesday mass offered today. I will continue to keep you in thoughtful prayer as we all look to a very warm welcome to Jill from the Wonderful Shepherd we know and believe in.

Mary and family, So sorry for your loss. Jill was such a good friend in high school. I remember coming out to your house for slumber parties, and the fun we had in 4H. I lost touch with her over the years, but will always remember her fondly.

I was shocked to learn that Jill had passed away. I have not seen her in many years, but have many fond childhood memories of her from our family get togethers. I will miss Jill and offer prayers in her memory.

We were very saddened to learn of Jill’s passing. It is times like these that startle us out of our complacency and make us realize yet again that we didn’t come to stay forever. Nor is age a determinant of how long we sojourn here. We comfort ourselves and hope you will be likewise comforted in the God of all comfort. He collects our tears in His bottle and gives us garments of praise instead of heavy spirits. Meanwhile we count ourselves among the very fortunate, who while on this journey, crossed paths and spent a little time with the compassionate and loving Gillian Ament.

So sorry for your sudden loss. Jill and I were good friends since we met at church in 1990. Nobody will forget her. She was great to my kids. She spoke of you often to me and I know she loved you very much, especially her neices and nephews. I am sorry I can't be there for her mass. You remain in our prayers.

Cliff and I send our deepest sympathy to Mary and all the Ament girls and their families. Sudden separation through death is one of the hardest things to have happen. I know happy memories will make you smile when you think of Jill, I know it does for me! God's strength to you.

My heart goes out to all of Jill's family and friends. She was a wonderful woman. I had the pleasure of working with her for 8 years at the National Housing Trust. She was our matriarch-- fiesty, committed to social justice, generous, and with a wondefully deep laugh. I have been in touch with other NHT alums, and all were touched by her kindness. She will be greatly missed by all.
