Nicole S. Bunkers
July 15, 1967 - March 30, 2014
Nicole (Nicki) Sue Bunkers was born in Mitchell, SD to Richard and Judy Kayser on July 15, 1967. She went to school at Hanson School in Alexandria, SD and graduated in 1987. She married Jim Bunkers on May 1, 1992 in Mitchell. She graduated from Mitchell Technical Institute for Early Childhood Development in 1988. She worked as an Owner/Operator along with her husband at Archie Bunkers Place in Cherokee for almost 18 years. She was involved in many activities within her community including bowling, pool and darts, which she enjoyed with her family and friends. As a young adult she loved to go camping and fishing with her parents and family prior to her married life. She is known by her family and friends to have a kind soul which is best described by her daughter as a mother who was 'delicate yet strong'. She loved her dog Peaches but is likely not to admit it.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank and Della Kayser of Alexandria, SD; Herbert and Sunieva Heinert of Mitchell, SD; father in-law and mother-in-law Darrell and Gloria Bunkers of Cherokee, IA and niece, Crystal Schneider of Alexandria, SD.

Nicki is survived by her spouse Jim Bunkers and daughter Annie Bunkers; step- daughters Jacque (Jason) Miller of Cherokee, Michelle (Adam) Pigott of Cherokee, Mandy (Joe) Bush of Fairmont, MN; parents Richard and Judy Kayser of Alexandria, SD; step-grandmother LaRue Heinert of Mitchell, SD; sisters Keri (Will) Hubers of Baltic, SD, Sheri (Rich) Schneider of Blue Earth, MN, Kathy Dorale of Dell Rapids, SD; brothers Lee (Joan) Kayser of Mitchell, SD, Jeremy (Jolene) Kayser of Alexandria, SD; grandchildren: Cole and Josh Feltner of Storm Lake, IA, Alexa and Alan Bush of Fairmont, MN, Austin Bunkers of Cherokee, IA, Matthew, Katelin, BreAnna, and Emilee Miller of Cherokee, IA, Brooke, Hannah, Addyson, Chloe, and Logan Pigott of Cherokee, IA.

The family of Nicki Bunkers wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all the many family and friends who have been blessed with her friendship and life throughout the years.

Hi Archie -
I am writing you today to let you know that I have been thinking about you and Annie all weekend after learning of Nicki's passing last Sunday. Please do not hesitate to give me a call or when you are ready to see company. If there is anything that I can do to help you, please call me at anytime. I am very sorry for your loss and Annie's loss. Nicki will be truly missed and I am sorry so that I was not at the memorial service as I had not heard about what happened until this past Friday night.
