I remember my childhood friend with a heavy heart. We were inseparable through our junior high days then just drifted apart a bit in high school. Always spent a little time with each other when we saw each other at reunions or whatever. I will always think of Mike when I think of my childhood as he was there almost every day. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

This was a really lovely obituary, and my thanks go out to whoever provided it. My father had his faults, but when he was in possession of his faculties, he was generous to a fault and he loved to laugh. In addition to fishing, gardening, and painting, I have many happy memories of watching cartoons with my dad as a child (everything from My Little Ponies to Scooby Doo). He loved to have fun. He also believed firmly in a good education. I owe a great deal to him and my grandparents both since they inspired me to go on for a Bachelors in Education and later a Masters and Ph.D. in English. God bless you, Dad. It was not always an easy life, but it was yours, and you lived it to the best of your ability.
