January 21, 1957 - June 11, 2017
Steven John Madsen, son of Jerry and Marge (Lenz) Madsen was born on January 21, 1957 in Storm Lake, IA. Steve spent his childhood in Rembrandt and Aurelia, graduating from Aurelia Community High School in 1975. Steve joined the Navy in 1980, served in Japan, and left the Navy in 1984 as a Petty Officer Third Class. After leaving the Navy, Steve was involved in farming and construction, as well as various other jobs.

He would spend countless hours calling family, friends, and even strangers to keep abreast of local happenings.

Steve passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 11 at the University Park Nursing and Rehabilitation facility in Des Moines at the age of 60. Steve was preceded in death by the passing of his father, Jerry Madsen, both sets of grandparents, and several uncles and aunts. Steve is survived by his mother Marge Madsen, of Omaha, NE; his siblings Kenneth (Lisa) Madsen, Karen (Scott) Monical, Kathy Williams, John (Angelena) Madsen, Roger Madsen, Angela (JC) Gaukel, as well as nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
