Upon learning of the death of Jason Peck's mother, the husband of my niece Laura, I went to the Cherokee newspaper to learn more about her death. I was moved and touched to read her obituary and to learn of all the lives she touched beyond her family and friends through her work and service. I give thanks to God. My deepest thoughts and prayers are with you all.

My memory of Marilyn Peck goes back to Oct. 24, 1996 when I called from Marion IA when I sought a new room & care for this MS I have. I talked to her and introduced myself & she replied, "Oh yes, I DO REMEMBER YOU!We had a warm chat, I told her my story, and she told me there was a room open for me! We arrived the next PM! I have truly loved living here in Hill Top/Careage Hills Care. She was truly a very warm, caring administrator who lovingly cared for each of us and we truly respected her~~We will truly miss her greatly.

Dear Jim,
I am sorry to hear of the death of Marilyn. I'm sorry you have had to suffer through her bout with cancer and now her death. Marilyn was a special person to me and my mother who resided at Careage Hills before her death. Marilyn and her leadership with the staff made her feel a part of that community which was special. I'm sure the staff and clients at Careage Hills will miss her calm, caring leadership a great deal.

Marilyn's caring and passionate care for the elderly during her time of being Administrator positively affected many people during her career. I was fortunate to have known Marilyn during my time as Administrator at the Randolph NE from 1999 - 2004. I consider myself to be fortunate to have known her and consider her a friend. Due to work commitments I will be unable to attend her funeral. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you during this time.

Think of you all, prayerfully, in this time of separation from your loved one. Marilyn was a non-stop caregiver - all given with much genuine care. God who IS LOVE will receive her with Joy into His Eternal home where there will be no more separations or grief. I will not be home until next month but will offer a mass for her - and your intentions - this week.
Sincerely in His Love, Fr. Gene
