Delores Ann Sawvell

 

Delores Ann Sawvell, 75, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died Sunday March 2, 2008, at the Trinity Regional Medical Center, Fort Dodge, Iowa following a lengthy illness.

 

Memorial services will be Thursday March 6, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Greenwood Funeral Home, Cherokee, Iowa.  Deacon Leroy Rupp will officiate.  Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Cherokee, Iowa at a later date.  Online condolences may be left at www.greenwoodfuneral.com

 

Delores was born August 22, 1932 in Cherokee, Iowa to Arthur and Ida (Wilberding) Delperdang.  She attended school in Cherokee, graduating from Immaculate Conception High School in 1950.  On November 25, 1955 she married Merlin Sawvell in Cherokee, Iowa.  Delores worked for McWilliams Drug Store, Cherokee Regional Medical Center, and Wilson Foods, Inc. for many years.  She retired and spent most of her time taking care of her grandchildren. 

 

Survivors include her husband; daughters, Joann Sawvell, Karen Sawvell, Marilyn Sawvell (Antonio), all of Storm Lake, Iowa; Susan Sawvell and Andy Tolan, of Fonda, Iowa;  son, Jason Sawvell, of Aurelia, Iowa;  sisters, Martha Tremaine, of Seattle, Washington; Alva Johnson, of Cherokee, Iowa; brother, Art Delperdang (Joan), of Sioux City, Iowa; 7 grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother (Raymond), 2 sisters (Florence Goettsch and Mary Hanson), sons (John and Glenn), a daughter (Debora).
