He enjoyed his life on the farm, but would occasionally get away to do some hunting with his sons, Jim and Doug. Lyle continued living on the farm until he passed away on April 24, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, LaVonne, in 1999, and an infant son, Jerry. Survivors include his sons and their families: Jim French of Cherokee, and Doug and his wife, Linda French of Murfreessboro, TN; 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; his sister, Shirley (Ervin) Jones of Aurelia; other relatives and friends.
