Carol Swenk

April 20, 1922 - September 14, 2011
Mrs. Carol Uhl Swenk was born in Mapleton, IA, on April 20, 1922. She moved to Orlando, FL in 1956, where she taught in St. James and Good Shepherd Schools for many years. She moved to Sparta, NC in 1983 and was evening supervisor for a branch of Wilkes Community College for several years. While in Sparta, she was a member of St. Francis of Rome Catholic Church. In early 2007, Carol moved to Lake Mary, FL and is a member of Annunciation Catholic Church. On September 14, 2011, Carol passed away at the Florida Hospital in Orlando, at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Elinor Uhl; one son, Paul Swenk, II; brother, Paul Uhl; and sisters: Darlene Hurst and Joy Dolan. She is survived by one daughter, Karen Swenk (Ben) Cimock of Orlando, FL; sons: Jim (Lynda) Swenk of Orlando, FL, Bruce (Trudy) Swenk of Sparta, NC, Duane (Sue) Swenk of Sparta, NC, and Kevin Swenk of Sparta, NC; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers: Howard (Delores) Uhl of Hampton, IA, Lawrence Uhl of Sparta, NC, Dick (Jane) Uhl of Pickerington, OH, and Gary (Jeanne) Uhl of Elkhart, IA; sisters: Kay (Red) Cadwell of Sacramento, CA, Lucille (Arlie) Larson of Smithland, IA, and Phyllis (Vince) Ahart of Coon Rapids, MN; as well as other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, September 22, 2011.
