“Mary Iam very sorry to hear about Bob. I know I have not seen or heard from the both of you but have thought of you often. It does not seem that we were kids running around together, I always rode to school and back in the old Chevy with Paul driving I apologize and that is too late Jack”

“In the six years I've lived in Cherokee Ia. there were countless times that I WENT OVER TO THE CREAMERY TO SEE MY FRIEND BOB. There are countless tools in my garage, car, and home that I bought over there from Bob, but more than that, it was ALWAYS GOOD TO GO AND SAY HI TO BOB. First I noticed that he was a quiet man who didn't have 'much to say'. Then I realized that he had a hearing impairment. Over the months and years that followed, I found Bob to simply and plainly be one of the finest people who I knew in Cherokee. He was a decent, good natured, kind hearted, down to earth man, who liked people and enjoyed his quiet life in his quiet way. A few weeks ago, I began to wonder if Bob was ok, and learned just yesterday of his passing. Bob was a true gentleman, and a very fine human being. I will miss his kind presence and fine nature greatly. My prayers are with you all . I know that God holds him close.”

“Always enjoyed seeing Bob when we were in Cherokee. Spent hours at the Creamery. Bob was an expert at vintage radios. I have two that I bought from him. His real collection was at his house. Our nickname for him was Radioman..what a great guy and we always looked forward to seeing him and his massive collection of items..”

“To Bobs entire family; I had the great fortune to have met Bob as a fellow beer can collector in the late 70's and have been friends since. We both cultivated hobby antique businesses and just had the oppertunity to pick Bobs brain about old radios just a couple of weeks ago. So glad I got to talk with him then, as he told me he was on 02, but still sounded like Bob. I'll bet he'll be at the first available auction in heaven. Hope he saves some for me. God speed and good picking Bobby.”
