“My condolences to the entire Schmillen family. Between 8th and 12th grade I ran with Jack, Bob, and Joe and spent alot of time at the Schmillen home. Bill and Bibs were always very kind to me despite the fact that I may have contributed to some minor mischief with any of the Schmillen boys. My heart goes out to the entire family.”

“Dear All Schmillens,
Well. Bill is gone. 89 years he lived. What a life. What a wonderful family. He truly was a great patriarch. I am so lucky to have been your neighbor up on Cherry for all those years. The Loughlins and the Schmillens got to know each other very well for all those years. We were like one big family - so many parallels. Bill was tough as nails and a true grit player with a big heart! You will miss him, but he surely has left a legacy behind of caring for family, living right, saying the Rosary and so much more. Please know I (and all the Loughlins) are with you in spirit and sending you our full support and love at this time and always. May Bill rest in peace - he is always with you. With true sympathies, Ann Ursula Loughlin (ole Cherry Street neighbor)”

“My heartfelt sympathies go out to the entire Schmillen family on the passing of Bill. I will always remember him from Andy's basketball games when he'd be the Braves biggest supporter. If the refs made a bad call against the '84 Braves, he would be the first to let them know. It was awesome to have him in the stands during those games.

“LIFE IS BUT A STOPPING PLACE
Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road,
to sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
but never meant to stay...
Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey's quicker,
For some the journey's slow.
And when the journey finally ends,
We'll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the Lord”
