“I first met Joe when I was doing my nursing preceptorship at Careage Hills. He knew who I was before I even introduced myself. He was a very intelligent man and had a very sharp memory. He proceeded to tell me that my mother took care of him when he lived at Countryside(over 20 years ago) and that he remembered seeing my picture in the paper as I was growing up for various different things. Over the years of working with Joe, it was obvious to everyone the love that he had for God and the pride he took in his family, especially his nephew. I hope Heaven is full of garage sales and plenty of space for his collections.”

“I met Joe at Careage Hills when my Mother, Marge Parker lived there. He was so friendly and always had a smile on his face. Each time I would visit other friends, even after my Mom passed away, he would call me by name. He will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. Blessings on Joe :)

“So sorry to hear that Joe passed. I worked at Careage Hills for a while and he was one of my favorite people to sit with and visit. Even after I'd moved away from town, I'd come back to see family and he always said hi to me and remembered me by name. He will be missed!”

“Joe was always a bright light every time I saw him, either at Careage Hills or on the street. I was shocked to hear he had passed away as I just had seen him when I visited my Dad at Careage Hills last week. Always the garage saler and happy as can be. I will miss his smiling face at Careage Hills. My sympathies to the family

“I know Joe is smiling as he walks the streets of gold with Jesus! I am thankful to have been able to call Joe my friend for the past 11 years. Joe was a great friend to my Dad, Staver Hyndman, while Dad lived at Careage Hills for 3 years.Even after Dad died, I continued to visit Joe. I always looked forward to visiting with Joe when I visited my family in Cherokee. Joe & I always had deep conversations about our love of Christ & the role God played in our lives. Joe encouraged me in my walk with Jesus and he kept me on my toes with our talks about different messages taught in the Bible. I will miss our visits and our conversations. BUT, I know I will see Joe again when I am home in Heaven too.
