Billie was united in marriage to Hubert Horacek in 1950. She did a lot of traveling with her husband. He was with communications with the State Department. They traveled to Africa, England, Brazil, Lebanon, and Ireland. She loved to sew and took tailoring classes in England. She also took oil painting lessons. Several of her paintings belong to different members of the family. She enjoyed bridge, pulling weeds- her own as well as her neighbors, attending garage sales, and was known as a gracious hostess.
Billie's Christian faith was an important part of who she was. Billie loved life and enjoyed people. She will be lovingly remembered as a devoted wife and aunt who always had a smile on her face. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Billie moved to the Heartland Care Center in 2013. She was very appreciative of the staff that cared for her and thoroughly enjoyed watching the birds at the center.
