“Beulah & Family
Sorry to hear about Skeeter, he was one of a kind and friendly
to everyone. We are unable to attend his funeral as we still
have a lot of ice and is dangerous to be out and about, but
we will be thinking of you and you are in our thoughts and
prayers. Am glad the weather is half way decent today.
God Bless you and your family
Henry & Betty Otto”

“Dear Beulah
Sorry to hear about Floyd. I have been concerned as the last couple times I call i didn't get an answer. Then when our Christmas letter came back I thought you must have moved and I didn't know how to get in touch with Floyd, I always enjoyed his letters and more recently his telephone calls, He was a special person and really the only contact I had with the Zimmer family. He was so helpful when I was putting together the family history as my grandmother was Margaret 'Maggie' Zimmer. She was married to Henry Oberbroeckling. My mother was Betty Oberbroeckling and she married Louis Preusser. They lived near Petersburg, Nebraska. You and Floyd always came to the funerals of the Oberbroecking's at Elgin, Raeville and Petersburg. I brought my mother to the Zimmer reunion and that is where I got acquainted with Floyd. I visited you and Floyd several times out on the farm. Always enjoyed going out to the Maryhill Church.
I don't know if I will be able to make it to the funeral as the weather isn't good from Arkansas to Iowa with the snow and ice. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. I will send a memorial to the Greenwood Funeral Home.
Joe Preusser”

“
I extend my sympathy and prayer to family regarding Floyd's
passing and will offer Sunday mass today for his departure and
your grief. I arrived here in Florida about a week ago and
will not be able to attend the funeral. Floyd was always a
gentle-man, patient and true, strong in faith and fidelity - truly exemplar. His Eternity is assured. Family can be assured
of this as consolation during this difficult time. May he rest
in Peace - from a long and meaningful life among us.”

“Our sincere condolences to the entire Zimmer family. I am certain God recognized the treasure that was Floyd. A historian and keeper of the key for Maryhill and Cherokee
county. He was a unique library of memories, stories and facts. A true joy to visit with! Floyd has achieved his reward!”

“Floyd was our "Neighbor to the North" and whenever you met him walking on the road, at church, farm sale or in tow he would greet you with "Hello Neighbor!" He was one of the kindest men we had the pleasure to know and he was so good with our boys-also sharing stories and being truly interested in their lives. He was our 1st call in a storm to coordinate who was going to call the electric company or to compare how much rain we got. He and Beulah were what country neighbors should be. We feel blessed to have known Floyd, we missed him when he moved to town and now he will truly be missed. Our deepest sympathies to Beulah and the entire Zimmer family. ”
