Anne Phipps passed away on October 28, 2017 at Westwood Specialty Care in Sioux City, Iowa.
Anne was born in Cherokee, Iowa on June 5, 1954. She was the oldest of Nate and Virginia Phipps six children. She attended Special Education classes in Cherokee Public Schools from Kindergarten through her senior year. Her education continued at Glenwood, Iowa where she was enrolled in the Vocation and Trades classes. After completing these courses, she obtained employment in Sioux City, Iowa.
Anne lived and worked in Sioux City since that time. She lived in Schesler Hall and worked for Goodwill Industries. She later lived in Morningside with Mid-Step housing and worked in the Mid-Step program five days a week. She participated in their Christmas Choir and Equestrian program. When her health became an issue, Anne moved to Westwood Specialty Care where above all odds she shined for over six years. Anne exhibited her world class Coca-Cola consumption abilities during her time at Westwood. Anne's family wishes to express their sincere and heartfelt thanks to the wonderful folks at Westwood as well as the caring people with Care Initiatives Hospice. Their kindness to Anne is greatly appreciated.
Anne loved music and dancing. When she was visiting in Cherokee, she liked to go to 'coffee with the girls' with her mom and her mom's friends. She had a nice disposition and people who knew her gained a lot from having known her. She loved going on trips with her mom, most notably a trip to Las Vegas where she got to see her all-time favorite-Wayne Newton.
