Her childhood years were spent in Cherokee, where she received her education and graduated from Wilson High School in 1942. DoraDean was the youngest of eight siblings. “I was so sorry to hear of your loss. I enjoy my memories of playing with you kids and your mom, always smiling and sweet. Dan and Janis, one of my earliest memories is going to your grandma's to play cards (which was a no-no at our house) and your mother never told on us! Miss you all! Would love to get in contact via email or facebook. Will miss seeing her at church whenever I get back to Cherokee.”

“So saddened when I heard of Dora Dean's passing. Please know you all are in our thoughts and prayers. What wonderful memories I have to cling to of her and your dad - and all you kids. Those Saturday mornings spent on the farm are good, good memories. You all came over almost every Sat. after Eldo and DoraDean went to Aurelia to do their banking.... Praise Him for preparing the home she has gone to - a beautiful, stress-free, worry-free, pain-free place. Don't you know your parents and my parents are having those same fun times today as they had on those Saturday mornings 40 some years ago!!!!!! Love to you all......”
