Aaron Wade Honsbruch

July 11, 1972 — February 25, 2018

 

Aaron Wade Honsbruch (Honz), the son of Ronald and Jolette (Dirkx) Honsbruch, was born July 11, 1972, at the Sioux Valley Hospital in Cherokee, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in Cherokee where he attended school and graduated from Washington High School in 1991. He then attended the University of South Dakota in Vermillion where he graduated in 1995.

 He worked at Cloverleaf Cold Storage from 1992-1998. He then worked for Tyson until 2014 when they closed. He moved to Wichita, KS in 2015 and worked for Smithfield Foods until his death.

 Aaron enjoyed NASCAR racing, running, biking nature trails, attending dart tournaments, and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes. He had a special love for his cat and always enjoyed listening to 80’s and 90’s rock music with his friends. Aaron lived a simple life and would always say “I only want what I need”.

 On February 25, 2018, Aaron passed away at Wesley Hospital in Wichita with his family and significant other by his side. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Garland and Ora Honsbruch, and Elmer and Emma Dirkx.

 He will lovingly be remembered by his parents, Ron and Jolette Honsbruch of Cherokee, IA; sister, Gwen (Honsbruch) Spooner and significant other Jamie Draper of Cherokee, IA; his significant other, Charlene Brawner of Wichita, KS; niece, Justine Spooner of Cherokee, IA; nephew, Drew Spooner of Cherokee, IA; other relatives and many friends.

SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2018, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee.

VISITATION
Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. Friday, with the family present from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday night at the Greenwood-Schubert Funeral Home in Cherokee. There will be a 7:00 p.m. prayer service following the visitation at the funeral home.
