Bea Reinert

August 12, 1922 — March 12, 2014

Bernetta "Bea" (Boothby) Reinert, the daughter of Leslie and Minnie (Helen) Boothby, was born in Cherokee County on August 12, 1922. She grew up in the Maryhill area and attended Grand Meadow School through the 10th grade. She later earned her GED. She married Lawrence Reinert on March 12, 1939. The majority of their married life was spent in Cherokee County. The family soon grew to include six children. Bea was a busy mother and homemaker, and also did house cleaning for many different families, her church and other businesses. She enjoyed reading and cooking. She loved to laugh and visit with her family and friends. She was active in the Holy Name Ladies Guild. Bea and Lawrence spent many winters as snowbirds in the Mission and McAllen, TX area. Lawrence passed away on November 19, 1991. Following his death, Bea continued living at her home in Marcus. For the past 2 1/2 years, she has made her home at the Heartland Care Center in Marcus. Bea passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, IA, having reached the age of 91. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Minnie (Schroeder), a great-grandson, and 5 siblings: Ella Woodall, and Bill, Martin, Roberta and Dick Boothby. She is survived by her children and their families: Judy (Jerry) Lubben of Marcus, IA, Larry Reinert of Cherokee, IA, LeRoy (Sandra) Reinert of Burlington, KY, Terry Reinert of Cassville, MO, Rebecca (Rusty) Bentzinger of Pella, IA, and son-in-law, John Schroeder of Remsen, IA; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. To the individuals, neighbors, family and friends who have helped Mom over the years--whether it was early mornings or late evenings, you saw to it that she made it to her doctors appointments, dialysis, or just to the grocery store. She would not have been able to live alone for as long as she did if you had not taken on this burden. Mom spoke so highly of each and every one of you. God bless you all.
