Bradley Donald Herwig, the son of Wayne and Marcia (Peterson) Herwig, was born September 3, 1970, in Cherokee, IA. His childhood years were spent in Cherokee where he received his education. After school, he worked at Countryside Estates in Cherokee as a Home Health Care Worker. He had most recently worked as an independent home care provider. This was Brad’s calling. He loved the time spent with the elderly and the connections to the residents he made. He was a caring and loving individual who always put the care of his residents first.
Brad was blessed with one son, Michael. He enjoyed the time spent with him and following him through his high school and college sports career. He was anxiously awaiting the arrival of his first granddaughter, Logyn.
Brad Was an outdoorsman, he cherished the time spent outdoors where he truly felt free. He was an avid fisherman(with personal claims to the biggest catfish ever caught out of Spring Lake Park), enjoyed camping, and being around the water. He was also an excellent cook, especially when it came to grilling and smoking meats. Most of all, he loved the times spent with family and friends. Brad had developed a relationship with the Lord, something that he was proud of.
On Monday, December 7, Brad passed away in Cherokee, IA, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Herwig; and uncles, Frank Herwig and Steve Herwig.
He will lovingly be remembered by his son, Michael (Summer) Herwig and their soon to be born daughter Logyn of Cherokee, IA; mother, Marcia (Mark) Casey of Cherokee, IA; brother, Matt Herwig of Florida; and several, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
