Corrinne McCarthy

Corrinne E. (Fuller) McCarthy, the daughter of John and Susana (Specht) Fuller, was born in Cherokee County, Iowa on December 25, 1926. She attended country school until the 8th grade, and graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in Cherokee. Following graduation she worked for the Bell Telephone Company, and also did clerical work at MHI. She was united in marriage to T. James McCarthy on August 26, 1948, at the Maryhill Catholic Church. With great pride, Corrinne took care of her home, and was a devoted mother to their six children. She also worked for the family business, J & H Locker. Corrinne was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, the Catholic Daughters, and the Ladies' Guild. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved gardening and talking with her neighbors. Following a brief illness, she passed away at her home in Cherokee, surrounded by her family on Monday, October 22, 2012, at the age of 85. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, Daniel and infant son, Michael, a brother, Daniel Fuller and a sister, Monica Jensen. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Deborah (Mark) Ammons of Sioux City, IA, Molly McCarthy of Coralville, IA, Patricia McCarthy of Cherokee, Terrence (Linda) McCarthy of Elgin, IL, and John McCarthy of Sioux City, IA; nine grandchildren: Stacy (Jarod) Wittrock, Trisha (Sean) Monahan, Kristin (Scott) Haar, Michael McCarthy, Matthew Olsen, Patrick McCarthy, Ryan McCarthy, Megan Hill and Christopher Hill; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Juanita (Gordon) Jensen of Oakhurst, CA; a brother-in-law, Robert Jensen of Milford, IA and a sister-in-law, Geraldine Gano of Spirit Lake, IA; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
