Darrel Moller

Darrel L. Moller, the son of Melvin and Esther (Jensen) Moller, was born in Holstein, IA on September 11, 1942. His childhood years were mostly spent in the Cherokee, IA area, and he graduated from Washington High School in Cherokee. He was united in marriage to Wanda Smith on October 12, 1963 in Cherokee. They first made their home in Cherokee, later spent 25 years in Arnolds Park, IA, and then returned to Cherokee in 2008. Throughout the years Darrel worked for Culligan, Quinn's Service, Thermogas, Perrin's Mink Ranch, Cherokee Agri Grain Systems, Parks Marina, Village West, and Clarey Lake Service. Darrel loved all things outdoors, including hunting, fishing, boating, camping and traveling. He especially enjoyed time spent with his family and his multitude of friends. He passed away at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center on Sunday, July 14, 2013, at the age of 70. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Esther Moller, his in-laws, Ray and Marie Smith, and many close friends. He is survived by his wife Wanda; his children and their families: Jim Moller of Cherokee, Shelley and Mark Benson of Meriden, IA, Traci and Les Lemley of Waukee, IA, and Thad Moller of Terril, IA; 9 grandchildren: Amber Moller, Ashley Moller, Eric Mongan (Ashley Winter), Traci Mongan, Gary Benson (Meghan Siefken), McKayla Benson, Wyatt Lemley, Mason Moller and Montana Moller; 3 great-grandchildren; a brother, Mike (Roxanne) Moller of Cherokee; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cherokee.

2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, at Greenwood-Schubert Funeral Home. The family will be present from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening.
