Dennis 'Bear' Franklin Clark

Dennis 'Bear' Franklin Clark, Jr. the son of Dennis, Sr. and Becky (Jones) Clark, was born October 12, 1970, in Memphis, TN. His childhood years were spent in Tennessee where he received his education and graduated from high school. In 1989, Dennis enlisted with the U.S. Navy. He served during operation Desert Storm and Desert Shield while on the U.S.S. Nimitz. He was honorably discharged in 1996. Following his service, Bear worked for the Shelby County Sheriff's Department. He then moved to Cherokee, IA, where he worked for Tyson Foods for two years, and most recently, had been employed at J.R. Roofing Company. Bear enjoyed fishing, hunting, and riding motorcycles. He will best be remembered for having a big heart, and his willingness to help anyone in need. On March 13, 2014, Bear passed away at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, IA at the age of 43. He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Clark, one brother, Patrick Clark, and grandparents Roy and Nona Clark. He is survived by his mother, Becky Clark of Memphis, TN; one sister, Amanda Clark of Memphis, TN; an uncle, Bill Clark, of Cherokee; two cousins, Kassie Miller of Marcus, IA, and Michelle Clark of California; an aunt and uncle, R.C. and Joy Colman of Arkansas; many other aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Memorial services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Saturday, March 15, 2014, at the Greenwood-Schubert Funeral Home in Cherokee.

Visitation will begin at 2 P.M. Saturday, until service time at the funeral home.
