Donald Jon Wickenhagen

Donald "Don" Jon Wickenhagen, 66, of Hospers, Iowa passed away June 23, 2022 at Ava's House in Sioux Falls, South Dakota after a courageous battle with cancer.
 
Don was born November 20, 1955 in Cherokee, Iowa and grew up on a farm near Meriden, Iowa. He was an avid firearms expert and enjoyed motorcycling. He is remembered by family and friends as a kind person.
 
On May 3, 1981, Don married the love of his life, Joanne Beek. Together they enjoyed 41 years of marriage. They loved to travel, most recently to visit his relatives in Chelan, Washington. Don was employed by Poppema-Sikma Construction in Sheldon, Iowa.
 
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Estel and Blanche Wickenhagen, and his brother Roger. He leaves behind his sisters Ardyce Skaggs and Bonnie Allison, his nieces Emily Winters and Heidi Poppens, and numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins.
 
The funeral will be July 1 at Greenwood Schubert Funeral Home in Cherokee. Family will be present at 10:00 followed by the service at 11:00. Following interment a reception will be held at the Community Center in Cleghorn, Iowa. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Don's life.

SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2022, at the Greenwood-Schubert Funeral Home in Cherokee.

VISITATION
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
INTERMENT
Liberty Township Cemetery
