Jean A. Hirschman

Jean Arlene Hirschman, the daughter of Delmer and Delores (Horkey) Hirschman, was born on December 22, 1946, at Remsen, IA. Her early childhood years were spent in Remsen. Her family moved to Sheldon, IA, where she attended school and Graduated from Sheldon High School. Following graduation, Jean lived in Bethany, MO for 10 years before moving to Cherokee. Jean worked for the Cherokee Mental Health for 31 years as a Resident Treatment Worker until her retirement in 2007. Jean enjoyed baking, cooking, and traveling to Texas to see family. Most of all, she loved being an Aunt to her nieces and nephews and spending time with family and friends. On November 16, 2013, Jean passed away at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and one brother, Richard Hirschman. She will lovingly be remembered by her siblings: Betty Hirschman of Cherokee, IA, Fred (Joyce) Hirschman of Sioux City, IA, Sandy (John) Ryan of Marcus, IA, and Tom (Janita) Hirschman of Cherokee, IA; one sister-in-law, Suzanne Hirschman of Kansas City, KS; nephews, Heath Ryan of Denison, Dustin (Emily) Simpson of San Antonio, TX, and their children, Isabele, Noah, and Allison, Cameron Hirschman of Cherokee, IA, Jaron (Mandy) Hirschman of Cherokee, IA, and Richard (Cathy) Hirschman of Cherokee, IA, and their children, Samantha, Taylor, and Abby; nieces, Mikelle (Mike) Dickey of Kansas City, KS, and their daughter, McKenzie, and Nicole Hirschman of Kansan City, KS; aunt and Uncle, Robert (Alice) Hirschman of Cherokee, IA, and Wes Hirschman of Marcus, IA; as well as other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Memorial services will be held at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at the Greenwood-Schubert Funeral Home.

VISITATION
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5-7 P.M. prior to the memorial service at Greenwood-Schubert Funeral Home in Cherokee.
