John Francis Bradstreet

John Francis Bradstreet, the son of Harry and Carol (Cook) Bradstreet, was born July 6, 1961, in Cherokee, IA. His childhood years were spent in Cherokee, where he attended school. Following his schooling, John remained in Cherokee, and worked for Sanitary Services. He later was a distributor of the Des Moines Register, and most recently he worked the last eight years managing Robbins Laundry Mat in Cherokee. On October 9, 2008, John was united in marriage to Julie Carey in Cherokee. In his free time, John enjoyed playing his guitar and drums. He also enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings and NASCAR, but most of all John enjoyed being around friends and family. On March 24, 2010, John passed away at his residence at the age of 48. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Alva Cook; paternal grandparents, Harry and Lois Bradstreet, and one uncle, Tom Bradstreet. He is survived by his wife, Julie Bradstreet of Cherokee, IA; parents, Harry and Carol Bradstreet of Cherokee, IA; father and mother-in-law, David and Carol Carey of Cherokee; five children: Elizabeth (Shan) Keomala, of Altoona, IA, Andrew Bradstreet of Sutherland, IA, April of Cherokee, IA, and Jake and Jeremy also of Cherokee, IA; three grandsons: Korbin, Kaden, and Karson; one sister, Rebecca (Steve) Letsche of Chaska, MN; 13 nieces and nephews; three brothers-in-law: Rick Mattioda of Fairmont, MN, Chad (Kelly) Carey of Cherokee, and Jay Carey of Cherokee; one sister-in-law, Trudy (Chad) Pederson of Milford, IA; maternal grandmother, Luella Cook of Cherokee; as well as many aunts; uncles; other relatives; and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, March 29, 2010, at Greenwood Funeral Home in Cherokee, IA.

Visitation will begin at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, with the family present from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Sunday afternoon at Greenwood Funeral Home in Cherokee.
