Jone Illene Pearson

Jone Illene Pearson, the daughter of Francis and Dorthea (Sweet) Meyer, was born on May 31, 1937 in Storm Lake, IA. Her childhood years were spent in Truesdale, IA, where she attended school and graduated from Truesdale High School. On March 24, 1964, Jone was united in marriage to Dr. Harold Pearson in Rushford, MN. Following their marriage they lived in Cherokee, IA. She attended Buena Vista University in Storm Lake. Jone worked at the Hy-Vee bakery for many years. She was also her husband's dental assistant years ago when they had a dental office in the basement. Jone love to oil paint, knit, and crochet. In her later years, she enjoyed going out with her good friend Ralph, to Car Club and out for dinner. She also enjoyed visiting with friends and watching her television shows. On May 10, 2010, Jone passed away unexpectedly at her home at the age of 72. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Harold Pearson in 2003; and her parents, Francis and Dorthea Meyer. She is survived by her two sons: Paul (Susan) Pearson of Knoxville, IA, and Pete Pearson of Storm Lake, IA; one twin sister, Jene (Benjii) Meyer of Modesto, CA; two grandchildren, Mike and Beth Elder; as well as nieces; nephews; other relatives; and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 14, 2010 at Greenwood Fuenral Home in Cherokee

VISITATION
Visitation will begin at noon on Thursday, with the family present from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Thursday night at Greenwood Funeral Home in Cherokee.
