Jonna Kay Galvin

December 4, 1963 — July 19, 2021

Jonna Kay Galvin, the daughter of Robert and Sheryl (Pettengill) Messerole, was born December 4, 1963, in Cherokee, IA. Her childhood years were spent in Cherokee where she attended school and graduated from Washington High School.

Following high school, Jonna attended South East Community College in Beatrice, NE, where she earned a nursing degree. Jonna loved being a nurse in the various communities she lived and served. She was a compassionate person who loved to help take care of people whether it as a nurse or as a friend.

Jonna was a fun loving person. She had a knack of cheering someone up with the perfect gift or the random dance parties that she was known for. She loved to laugh, joke around, and show up unexpectedly with her surprise visits. Most of all, she loved the time spent with family and friends.

Jonna passed away at her residence in Spencer, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Sheryl Messerole.

She will lovingly be remembered by her children, Josh (Jacinta) Messerole of Ohio, Ashley (Mike) McCurry of Kenya, Jade Galvin (Jebren Dalisay) of Kentucky, and Haley Galvin of Kentucky; eight grandchildren, Lyon, Layla, Evelyn, Oscar, Kyan, Collin, Journey, and Jillian; brothers, Joel Messerole of Cherokee, IA, and Noel Messerole of Florida; one sister, Melissa Messerole of Monet, MO; and several very close nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 23, 2021, at the Greenwood-Schubert Funeral Home in Cherokee.
