Judith "Judy" A. Reinhardt

Judy was born August 27, 1942 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to James J Whitty and Patricia (Murphy) Whitty.  She grew up in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania where she graduated high school at Bishop McDevitt in 1960.   She attended West Chester State College for 2 years in Harrisburg and later finished her degree at Western Iowa Tech in 1989. On April 4, 1964 she was united in marriage to Philip J Reinhardt.  Philip and Judy had four children.  Judy served as Activity Director at Hilltop Care Center in Cherokee, Iowa for 7 years and Freeman Nursing Home in Freeman, South Dakota for 18 years. One of her greatest passions was working with the nursing home residents.

 

She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church and a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary #3728, Past President of the National Little League Association, Lay minister and lector at Immaculate Conception Parish, Hospice Volunteer, Former member of the Federation of Christian Women and Stonecroft Bible Ministries. 

Her greatest joy in life was her faith in God, her 4 children, 17 grandchildren & 2 great-grandchildren. Her special interest and passion were reading scriptures, devotions, Christian books, listening to Christian and Christmas music, swimming, boating, the ocean, family holidays and gatherings.

Those left to cherish her memory include children, Michele (Clint) Simmons of Grand Island, Philip Jr (Pattianne) Reinhardt of Oakhill, VA, James (Stephani) Reinhardt of Marion, SD and Carl (Jackie) Reinhardt of Dakota Dunes, SD; seventeen grandchildren; Will, Caleb, Rachel, Ty, Kellen, Jessica, Madison, Emily, Cole, Alex, Kaitlyn, Chase, Kaylee, Seth, Addison, Isaac and Graclyn; two great grandchildren Charlotte and Liam, and sister, Maryanne Zimmerman of Hershey, PA, 2 nieces; Feloneise and Kathy and 2 nephews; John Michael and Patrick.

 

She was preceded in death in by her husband Philip Reinhardt of 27 years, her parents James J Whitty and Patricia (Murphy) Whitty, sister, Jamie, infant twin sister Joan, and special friend, Francis Schoneberg.
