Keith D. West

August 3, 1965 — February 15, 2015

Keith Darel West, the son of the late Merlin West and Leah (Heschke) West, was born at midnight on August 3, 1965, in Cherokee, Iowa. His early years were spent in Cherokee. The family then settled on a farm between Alta and Hanover, Iowa. He graduated from Alta High School. He spent the next four years attending Buena Vista College, and then served 10 years in the Army Reserves. He was employed by Lundell Construction for 12 years, and also worked as a farm hand. Keith enjoyed outdoor activities, including fishing, gardening, canoeing, traveling and spending time with his friends. He found great satisfaction in doing construction work. Keith passed away at his home in Meriden on February 16, 2015. He was preceded in death by his father, his grandparents, and several aunt and uncles. He is survived by his mother Leah West of Meriden; two sisters, Yvonne (Kenny) Dodd and Sharon Nicholson, both of Cherokee, and two brothers, Ted West of Cleghorn, Iowa and Kelly (Michon) West of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; two former spouses, Twyla Angstrom of Minot, ND and Pam West of Fonda, IA; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

SERVICES

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, February 20, 2015, at the Greenwood-Schubert Funeral Home in Cherokee.
