Keith Samuel Olhausen

Keith S. Olhausen, the son of Everett and Mona (Gillispie) Olhausen was born July 4, 1931, in Hartley, IA. His childhood years were spent in Sutherland, IA where he attended school and graduated from Sutherland High School in 1949. After school, Keith served in the Air Force from 1951 - 1954 until his honorable discharge. On May 27, 1951, Keith was united in marriage to Norma Klingborg in Sutherland. In 1956, they moved to Cherokee, IA where Keith worked as a manager for Sears. The family relocated to Storm Lake in 1961 while Keith continued his work with Sears before moving back to Cherokee in 1965 when they started Olhausen Moble Manor. Keith also worked for the US Post office as a rural mail carrier for 20 years. Keith was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cherokee. He liked to hunt, fish, and camp. He also enjoyed attending polka festivals, riding his motorcycle, and snowmobile. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. On November 18, 2016, Keith passed away at Accura Health in Cherokee, IA at the age of 85. He was preceded in death by his parents; Everett and Mona Olhausen; his daughter, Natasha Olhausen; his son, Mike Olhausen; and two brothers, Bob and Jim Olhausen. He is survived by his wife, Norma Olhausen of Cherokee, IA; one daughter Michelle (Brian) Henley of Aurelia, IA; daughter-in-law, Molly Olhausen of Cherokee, IA; three grandchildren, Nick (Mary) Olhausen of Sioux City, IA, Natalie Olhausen of Cherokee, IA, and Shawn Henley of Wayne, NE; two great-grandchildren, Lauren and Emily Olhausen of Sioux City, IA; one brother, Lyle Olhausen of Spirit Lake, IA; and other relatives, and friends.
SERVICES
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November22m 2016 at the Greenwood-Schubert Funeral Home in Cherokee.

Visitation will be held on Monday, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with the family present during that time at the Greenwood-Schubert Funeral Home.
