Kenneth William Anderson

January 7, 1924 — March 11, 2017

Kenneth W. Anderson was born on January 7, 1924, in Cherokee IA, to Nels and Esther Anderson. He married Elizabeth Elphinstone in 1954. He lived a full and active life. From growing up on a farm, to working construction, to owning his own business, there was nothing that slowed him down. Every year up until 2013, he made a trip to Wyoming to hunt for elk or deer. Many of these trips were with his son and/or his grandson. Ken had a passion and skill for gardening. Everyone that stopped at his house couldn't help but marvel at his garden. He also loved baking cookies for his great-grandchildren. Ken died peacefully on March 11, 2017 in South Sioux City, NE at the age of 93. He was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth. Survivors include his son Perry Anderson of South Sioux City NE, grandson Jason (Kim) Anderson of Des Moines IA, granddaughter Heather (Matt) Van Dusseldorp of Colfax IA, and great-grandchildren, Thomas Anderson, Avery Anderson, Max Stengel, and Sophia Van Dusseldorp; his good friends Dave Nelson and Mark Thompson.
