Kirby D. Morrow

Kirby Delane Morrow, son of Dale and LaDonna (Helms) Morrow, was born on October 17, 1953 in Cherokee, IA.  He spent his childhood years in Cherokee, IA where he graduated from Washington High School in 1972.

Kirby worked as a welder for Caswell Manufacturing, a packer for Wilson Packing House,  a projectionist for American Theater, an Auxiliary Policeman for Cherokee and many years working for Wilson TV and Buslow TV in Cheorkee, IA.  His greatest passion was working with electronics.  His last job was as a Custodian at Washington High School where he retired in 2021 due to health issues.

Kirby enjoyed listening to music and reminiscing about businesses and people.  He enjoyed being a “DJ” for 20 years.  He was very social and enjoyed talking to friends and being around people.  Kirby also enjoyed traveling.  His favorite trips were to Las Vegas, Florida, and Black Hills.  One of his favorite things to do was when he could eat crab legs.

Kirby was very thankful for all of his friends that would visit him and help him as his health declined.  He passed away peacefully at his home on February 23, 2023.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and LaDonna Morrow and a half-brother, Doug.

Kirby is survived by his significant other of 20 years, Dawn Niemeier, two brothers, Harlan (Lita) Morrow and Vince (Jeanne) Morrow, nieces and nephews, Wendy, Hugh, Sara and Tina, other relatives, and many friends.
