Lawrence Jaggie

December 27, 1947 — January 28, 2018

Lawrence David Jaggie, the son of Edward Walter and Colleen (Hancock) Jaggie was born December 27, 1947, in St. Louis, MO. His childhood years were spent in St. Louis where he received his education.

 In 1975, he moved to Iowa looking for work. It is there that he met Rhonda Bjorklund. They were united in marriage on May 21, 1978. They soon welcomed two daughters, Amy, in 1980, and Melissa, in 1982.

 Larry drove truck for many years. He later owned Mr. Muffler and Towing in Storm Lake before going back to what he truly enjoyed, driving truck.

 On September 28, 1984, Larry was married to Judi Holmstrom at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They made their home in Cherokee and then moved to Storm Lake for several years before moving back to Cherokee. In his free time Larry enjoyed painting ceramics, feeding birds, and going to the casinos. He also had a love for all animals, especially his dog Cocoa. Larry loved being around his family and friends.

 On January 28, 2018, Larry passed away at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Walter and Colleen Jaggie; sisters, Donna Becker, Barbara Attel, and Ruth Ann Turner; one brother, Eddie Jaggie; and father-in-law, Orville Paulsen.

 He will be remembered by his wife, Judi Jaggie of Cherokee, IA; daughters, Staci Holmstrom of Storm Lake, IA, Amy (Bill) Cooper of Milford, IA, Melissa (Jeremy) Riesenberg of Pocahontas, IA, Sonja Jaggie of St. Louis, MO, and Debbie Wiler of Indianapolis, IN; 20 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; one sister, Jeanie (Michael) Minenchello of New Hampshire; one brother, Jon (Sherry) Jaggie of Missouri; his mother-in-law, Doris Paulsen; other relatives and friends.

SERVICES

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 1, 2018, at the Greenwood-Schubert Funeral Home in Cherokee.
