Lawrence Ralph Anderson

August 26, 1924 — October 27, 2012

Lawrence Ralph Anderson, the son of Mary (Lockwood) and Arvid Anderson was born on August 26, 1924 outside Larrabee. He graduated from Aurelia High School in 1942 and served in the U.S. Navy. Lawrence was united in marriage to Donna Lou Eischen on April 23, 1947 in Cherokee, Iowa. They made their home near Aurelia, where they farmed and raised their six children: Patricia, Katherine, Jacquelyn, Ronald, Randall and Angela. Family, faith, farming and fishing were a big part of his life. He was blessed to be able to live the life he had dreamed. The diligent work of farming was lightened by fishing trips. Lawrence took great pride in his farm and passed that love of the land and farming to his sons. During their 65 years of marriage, Lawrence and Donna enjoyed ballroom dancing. They were loyal supporters of Aurelia school activities and loved to see their grandchildren perform. He served on the elevator board in Aurelia and was a member of the American Legion. Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, sister Ruby and her husband Lowell Gano; and infant granddaughter Lageschulte. He is survived by his wife, Donna and children, Patricia Estes (Bill) of Sioux Center, IA, Katherine Mazoyer (Dick) of Charlotte, NC, Jacquelyn Bleil (Tom) of Hornick, IA, Ronald Anderson (Dian) of Aurelia, IA, Randall Anderson (Deborah) of Cherokee, IA, and Angela (Harry) Endrulat of Lincoln, Ne; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Leland Anderson (Marilyn) of Cleghorn, IA.
