Lorraine C. Herrmann

Lorraine C. Herrmann, the daughter of Edward and Hilda (Anderson) Harty, was born August 10, 1921 in St. Paul, MN. Her childhood years were spent in Highland Park, IL where she attended school and graduated from Lake Forrest High School. Lorraine was united in marriage to Paul Herrmann on July 27, 1945, in Geneva, IL. Following their marriage, Lorraine worked for the telephone company. The family moved to Sioux Falls, SD where she continued working for the telephone company before moving to Cherokee, IA in 1950. As her family grew, she worked from home and helped to raise their family. Lorraine enjoyed watching CNN, reading, and the companionship of her dog. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. On November 7, 2011, Lorraine passed away at the Cherokee Villa Nursing Home at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Herrmann on April 12, 1992; parents, Edward and Hilda Harty; two brothers; and one sister. She is survived by her three children: Paulette Herrmann of Cherokee, IA, Michael (Patty) Herrmann of Norwalk, IA, and Kevin Herrmann of Cherokee, IA; one granddaughter, Nikki Herrmann of Norwalk, IA; two brothers, Bill Harty of Riverside, CA and John Harty of Highland Park, IL; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
