Growing up, he attended school in Burt where he graduated from Burt High School in 1979. Following high school graduation, he attended Iowa Lakes Community College in Emmetsburg, Iowa where he graduated with a degree in Ag Management. On June 27, 1982, Marc was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Amy Roed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Burt. Together, they were blessed with two daughters, Ally and Sara. Marc farmed on the family farm outside Burt, Iowa for 13 years. In 1992, Marc, Amy and their family moved to Cherokee where Marc worked for Haselhoff Construction from that time until his death. He thoroughly enjoyed his work and joking with his coworkers. Marc was a faithful member of the Memorial Presbyterian Church in Cherokee where he actively served on the Board of Trustees and had recently begun to sing with the choir. Marc was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He cherished making memories with his family and spending time with his daughters and grandchildren. Marc and Amy enjoyed traveling together and with family and friends. He was very musical, singing through the years with Amy, the Cherokee Community Theater and with several quartets formed from the Algona Cornbelt Barbershop Chorus. In his spare time, he loved to golf and cheer for the Iowa Hawkeyes and Kansas City Chiefs. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
