Marga Wede

Marga Wede, the daughter of Wilhelm and Catherine (Hansen) Rahbusch, was born September 4, 1929, in Sutherland, Iowa. She graduated from Sutherland High School in 1949. She was married that same year to Everett Wede. In 1955, she began a 14-year career working at the Mental Health Institute in Cherokee. She also worked for many years at the Cherokee Care Center until her retirement in 1995. Even after "retiring", she continued to offer home health care for patients and neighbors needing extra help. She devoted her entire working life to the care of others. Marga passed away, under Hospice care, at Careage Hills Nursing Home in Cherokee, IA, on Thursday, July 28, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Dennis; six sisters: Christine, Ella, Mariane, Betty, Ruth and Magdalina; three brothers: Tom, John and William. Left to cherish her memory are two daughters: Nancy Wede and Susan Wede, both of Cherokee, and a son, Ken (Chris) Wede of Madison, SD; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Herman (Glenda) Rahbusch and Harry (Gloria) Rahbusch, both of Sutherland, IA; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
