Mark Buchanan

Mark James Buchanan, the son of Arthur and Margarita (Franco) Buchanan was born August 12, 1969 in Riverside, CA. He spent his childhood years in many different locations due to his family being in the military. On June 28, 1991, Mark was united in marriage to Rebecca Hope Nicks in LeMars, IA. To this union, three daughters were born; Brandalynn Suzanne, Alyssa Rose and Danielle Marie. Mark and Rebecca made their home in Marcus, IA. He drove truck for 25 years with his last employer being Schmillen Construction in Marcus, IA. He retired in September 2010 due to illness. Mark enjoyed shooting guns, wordworking, computers and reading. On September 22, 2011, Mark passed away at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center at the age of 42. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred and Rose Wiley and Henry and Mary Haynes; Uncles Billy Wiley and Louie Bills; and father-in-law, James Nicks. He is survived by his beloved wife, Becky of Marcus, IA; three daughters, Brandalynn, Alyssa and Danielle; parents Arthur and Margarita Buchanan of Cherokee, IA; sister Janet (Doug) Dana of California; niece, Angelina Dana of California; mother-in-law, Mary Nicks of South Sioux City, NE; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
SERVICES
Services will be held on Monday, September 26, 2011 at 11:00 am at Greenwood-Schubert Funeral Home in Marcus, IA.

VISITATION
Visitation will begin on Sunday, September 25, 2011 from 2 - 5pm with the family present from 2 - 5pm at the Greenwood-Funeral Home in Marcus, IA.
