Mary Florence Harder

July 3, 1937 — January 1, 2016

Mary Florence Harder, 78 of Tucson, Arizona, passed away peacefully to be with our Lord on January 1, 2016. She was the second daughter of Alice and Orla Harder. Mary grew up on a farm north of Marcus and was a member of Holy Name Parish until she graduated from Holy Name School in 1956. She was a graduate of Mercy School of Nursing in Iowa City, Iowa. Mary completed 20 years of distinguished service in the U.S. Army Nurse Core. She served in Korea, Vietnam, and trained MASH units in Germany. After her service in the military, she continued to serve the public as a Director of Nursing as well as a Disability Advocate. Mary was very active as a member of St. Odilia's Catholic Community as a Eucharistic Minister and a RCIA sponsor. She enjoyed extensive travel with friends and family. Her hobbies were crafts and playing the organ. She is survived by her long time special friend, Sharon Tiers; sisters, Elizabeth Miller, Jean (Ron) Schmidt; nephews, Douglas Miller and Curtis Miller; nieces, Therese Teagarden, Kimberly Rudrud, Annastacia Jorgensen and many cousins and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 6, 2016, at Holy Name Catholic Church in Marcus.
