Patricia Sue Miller

Patricia Sue Miller, the daughter of Roy and Marie (Fuhrman) Tippy, was born March 2, 1939, in Cherokee, IA. Her childhood years were spent in Cherokee where she attended and graduated from Immaculate Conception School. After high school, she attended Northwest College in Orange City, and graduated with a teaching degree. She later completed her Masters at Drake University in 1986.

 Patricia was briefly married to James Miller. She was blessed with two children, Sara and Anthony. Patricia had an extensive teaching career that started in Templeton, IA in 1974. From 1978-1996, she taught at Lake View-Auburn. From 1996-1997, she taught at Coon Rapids, and from 1997-2005, Marcus-Meriden- Cleghorn, until her retirement in 2005.

Patricia was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee. She enjoyed playing golf, woodworking, and cheering on her Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Cubs. Most of all she loved the time spent with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

 On Sunday, June 5, 2022, Patricia passed away at Hegg Memorial Hospital in Rock Valley, IA, at the age of 83. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Marie Fuhrman; one brother, George Tippy; and sisters, Teresa Sefcik, Agnes Day, Ruth Tippy, and Margaret Mogensen.

 She will lovingly be remembered by her two children, Sara (Terry) Lively of Rock Valley, IA, and Anthony (Catherine) Miller of Fort Meyers, FL; five grandchildren, Amber Lively and her significant other Kurt Reichelt of Sioux Falls, SD, Maylissa (Keith) Wells of Cherokee, IA, Bradley (Dahlia VanderWoude-Miller) of Port Charlotte, FL, Steven Lively of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Jeffrey Miller of Tampa, FL; 5 great-grandchildren, Alexander, Katherine, Benjamin, and Isabella Wells, and Fae Rose VanderWouden-Miller; two brothers, Joseph (Patricia) Tippy of Saukville, WI, and Michael (Karmen) Tippy of Cherokee, IA; also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

SERVICES
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee.

VISITATION
Visitation will be held with family present from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, at the Greenwood-Schubert Funeral Home in Cherokee. There will be a rosary conducted by the Catholic Daughters of America at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday and a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the funeral home following visitation.
