Paul Higgins

October 2, 1966 — September 5, 2020

John Paul Higgins, the son of John and Diane (Bengford) Higgins, was born October 20, 1966, in Cherokee, IA. His childhood years were spent on the family farm near Galva, IA. He attended school and graduated from Galva-Holstein High School in 1986. After graduation, Paul attended mechanic school in Omaha.

John moved to Des Moines, IA, and worked as a mechanic for Firestone. He later moved back to Galva, IA, to help take care of his mother as her health declined. Over the next few years, Paul worked at various jobs in the area before moving to Mason City, IA, where he worked as a crop adjuster.

Paul was as avid sports fan. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, high school and college football games, and was a life-long Buffalo Bill’s fan. He also enjoyed farm and equipment sales. Most of all, Paul enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

On September 5, 2020, Paul passed away at his home at the age of 53. He was preceded in death by his mother, Diane Higgins; sister, Catherine Higgins; brother, Timothy Higgins; and grandparents, Edmund and Phylis Bengford, and Charles and Linnie Higgins.
