Phyllis Elizabeth Jaminet, the daughter of John and Lena (Gengler) Nilles was born November 20, 1921, in Plymouth County, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in the Remsen area where she attended school and graduated from Remsen St. Mary’s High School in 1939.

Phyllis was united in marriage to John Francis Jaminet on July 3, 1943. Phyllis lived in Washington, Oregon, and California during her first year of marriage while John was in the service. When he went overseas, she moved home. In 1945 when John got out of the service, they moved to Marcus, Iowa, and ran Jaminet’s Repair and Service Station. They moved to the farm in 1950. John passed away in 1974. Phyllis moved to Cherokee in 1993.

Phyllis was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughter’s. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, and tending to her flower garden. She also enjoyed traveling and was able to visit Rome, New Zealand, Australia, all of her children across the U.S.A., and various casinos! Most of all, Phyllis enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
