Robert 'Bob' Schulenberg

Robert "Bob" Schulenberg, the son of Harvey O. and Lois M. (Danielson) Schulenberg, was born May 21, 1955, in Lincoln, NE. His childhood years were spent in Lincoln, NE where he attended school and graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School in 1973. Bob later attended Nebraska Wesleyan University where he earned a bachelor degree in Psychology. On September 17, 1988, Bob was united in marriage to Julie DeBoer in Lincoln. Bob and Julie eventually made their home in Aurelia, where he worked as a social worker for Social Services. Bob was an avid Husker fan. He was an advocate for children and families. He loved the outdoors and spent many hours in his yard planting and growing things. He was a great handyman and always had a project going. More than anything, Bob loved his family and spending time with them brought him his greatest joy. On April 3, 2013, Bob passed away at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center at the age of 57. He was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Schulenberg; brother, Mark Schulenberg; grandparents, Edgar and Alice Danielson and Theodore and Wilhelmina Schulenberg; and great aunts, May and Lillian Danielson. He is survived by his wife, Julie Schulenberg of Aurelia, IA; sons: Justin (Mary) Schulenberg of Aurelia, IA, Eric Schulenberg and Phillip Schulenberg both of Aurelia, IA; grandchildren, Kaden, Liliana, Kouper, and KalvinSchulenberg; mother, Lois Schulenberg of Lincoln, NE; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jerry and Carol Leach of Lincoln, NE; sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy and Dennis Borchers of Lincoln, Barbara and Patrick Pfeifer of Papillon, NE; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Vicki Schulenberg of Lincoln, NE; Sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, Cindy and Greg Johnson of Calumet, IA, Sue and Lyle Peterson of Cherokee, IA, and Teresa Aldridge; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
