Robert Matthew Carstens

Robert Carstens, 49, of Holstein, formerly of Quimby, died on March 1, 2018, among the farmlands that he loved to tend.

 Rob was born on October 31, 1968 to Dot and Bob Carstens in Cherokee, Iowa. He graduated from Willow High School in 1987. He had two children, his girlfriend and her sons that he loved more than anything. He enjoyed farming, especially calving time. Outside of farm work, Rob enjoyed cooking, fishing, helping with the St. Mary’s Booster Club and spending time with family and friends.

 Many people have been left to cherish his memory, his two children; Connor and Courtney; his parents, Dot and Bob; his brothers Todd, John and his wife Megan and their two kids Kipton and Kennedi; his girlfriend Amy Peuse, her sons Abraham, Jack and Jonathan. He was preceded in death by his grandparents John and Alice Todd and Ernie and Hilda Carstens and Uncle Joseph Carstens.

 In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations are made to Storm Lake St. Mary’s Catholic Schools.
