Rodney Lee Robinson

November 25, 1965 — December 13, 2019

Rodney Lee Robinson was born in Cherokee, IA, November 25, 1965, to Mike and Gerri (Steward) Robinson. He was raised in Cherokee, and graduated from Washington High School in 1984. Shortly after graduation he went to work for the family business, Robinson’s Furniture and Floor Covering—working alongside his mom and dad for more than 30 years.

When he wasn’t working, Rodney enjoyed being outside. He took great pride in tending his garden (“the best tomatoes around!”), and loved fishing at the lake. He was known for his big heart—his friends and family will dearly miss his loving presence.

Rodney passed away at St. Luke’s UnityPoint Health Center in Sioux City, IA, on Friday, December 13, 2019, having reached the age of 54. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Violet Robinson and Lloyd Steward.

He is survived by his son, Robbie and his fiancé, Hannah, of Sioux City; his parents, Mike and Gerri Robinson of Cherokee; three brothers: Roger and his wife Tracy, and their son, Carter of Ames, IA, Ron and his wife Dana, and their children, Sophie, Nella and Tymen of Chrystal Lake, IL, Ryan and his wife, Elyse, of Minneapolis, MN; his grandmother, Margaret Steward and her friend, Eugene Ferris of Cherokee; several aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
