Serenity Lee Bumann

July 22, 2013 — May 25, 2015

Serenity Lee Bumann, twenty-two month old daughter of Harlan and Erin (Rydgren) Bumann of Quimby, IA, was welcomed into this world, along with her twin sister, on July 22, 2013. Born prematurely, her first two weeks of life were spent in the Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit in Sioux City, where she proved to be quite the little fighter. Serenity grew to be an adventurous and curious toddler, a fearless and beautiful girl who loved to laugh and cuddle. Her days were often spent playing with her siblings, coloring and drawing, watching 'Big Bang Theory', and playing with her dog, Thor and her cat, Orion. She loved mealtime (especially if it included brownies and/or donut holes), dress-up and dancing. Although she was a typical toddler--standing less than three feet tall, with little hands that sometimes got into things they shouldn't, Serenity's heart was huge--making her the best protector of her twin sister, Remy, and a comfort to anyone in her world who was hurting. Her time on earth was much too short, but her impact on our lives will be eternal. Serenity was preceded in death by her grandfather, 'Grampy' Dana Rydgren, Aunt Krista Rydgren, Great-Grandpa Loren Kuhrts, and an Uncle, Wesly Grohe. Left to cherish her memory are 'Daddy' Harlan and 'Mommy', Erin Bumann; sisters Lily and Remini and brother, Cealey; grandparents, Cindy (Lyle) Hanner of Quimby, IA, and Peggy Chapman of Salem, MA; great-grandmothers Mary Kuhrts of Apache Junction, AZ, and Shirley Carpenter of Tucson, AZ, great-grandfather Larry Bumann of Washta, IA; five special cousins, Braxtyn Smith, Aria Icenhower, Maverick Lindsay, Bentley Nassif and Julia Cutter; several aunts, uncles and other relatives and countless friends.
