Theresa Mae Denery

Theresa Mae Denery, the daughter of Michael and Denise Meissner was born September 17, 1990, in Flint, MI. Her childhood years were spent in Grand Blanc, MI where she attended school and graduated from high school in 2008. Following high school, she moved to Cherokee, IA where she worked various jobs while taking classed to become a CNA. She later attended WIT in 2017 and graduated in 2019 with her nursing degree.

 On June 29, 2018, Theresa was united in marriage to Shawn Denery in Cherokee, IA. They made her home in Cherokee and she worked at Pearl Valley nursing home for a brief time and most recently was working as a traveling nurse.

 Theresa enjoyed fixing her hair and doing makeup. She also liked shopping for cloths and listening to music. Her two daughters and family were her life and she cherished the time spent with them.

 On Saturday, May 15, 2021, Theresa passed away from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident near Denison, IA at the age of 30. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John Carol Brooks, Judy Rice, and Keith Meissner; one sister, Katelyn Meissner.

 She will lovingly be remembered by her husband, Shawn Denery of Cherokee, IA; her two daughters, Athena and Charlotte of Cherokee, IA; her parents, Michael and Denise Meissner of Grand Blanc, MI; father and mother-in-law, Fred and Pati Jo Miller of Weslaco, TX;  one brother, Michael John (Marisa) Meissner of Grand Blanc, MI; brothers-in-law, Brian (Leighann) Denery, Charlie (Emilee) Belden of Cherokee, IA, and Darragh (Josh) Weber of Cherokee, IA; and several nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
