Thomas Richard Brader

Thomas Richard Brader, the son of Richard and Pauline (Madden) Brader was born December 16, 1952, in Audubon, IA. His childhood years were spent in Audubon where he attended and graduated from Audubon High School.

After graduation, he worked as an appliance repairman. On September 4, 1976, he was united in marriage to Jana Bramer in Audubon. They moved to Cherokee, IA in 1978. Tom worked for the former Chief Cable Television, which later became Mediacom, for over 40 years until his retirement.

Tom was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday school, and helped with decorating the church during Christmas. He was the president of the Cherokee Little League, and enjoyed the time spent coaching and umpiring his children’s games. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

On May 18, 2023, Tom passed away at Accura Healthcare in Cherokee, at the age of 70. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jana Brader; son, Aaron Brader; and parents, Richard and Pauline Brader.

He will lovingly be remembered by his daughters and their husbands, Bryna (Dennis) Blankman of Gretna, NE, Crystal (Kyle) Samsel of Meriden, IA, and Mary (Jon) Bounds of Lincoln, NE; six grandchildren, Jason, Darian, Ashlynn, Colton, Bradee, and Henry; two brothers, Donald (Kay) Brader of Oklahoma City, OK, and David Brader of Missouri Valley, IA; sister, Carol (Stephen) Batten of Clarinda, IA; and other relatives and friends.
