William 'Bill' Lee, Jr.

William "Bill" Lee, Jr. the son of William C. Sr. and Phoebe (McTasney) Lee was born February 27, 1941, in Cherokee, IA. His childhood years were spent in Cherokee where he received his education. He graduated from Washington High School in 1959. Bill attended one year at Wayne State College in Wayne, NE. Following graduation Bill worked for the Mental Health Institute in Cherokee as a resident treatment worker for a couple years. He then worked for Water's Gas Station and eventually Lee's Hardware with his brother Ken. He later went back to work for the MHI for many years before retiring in 2006. Bill was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, bowling, and attending sporting events. Most of all, Bill enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. On March 11, 2015, Bill passed away at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center following a 1 � year long battle against cancer. He was 74. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William and Phoebe Lee; one brother, Ken Lee; two baby grandchildren; sister-in-law, Toby Jones; and his father and mother-in-law, Hap and Lucille Gravenish. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Linda Lee of Cherokee, IA; four boys: Shawn Lee of Cherokee, IA, Bob (Donna) Lee of Cherokee, IA, Matt Lee of Cherokee, IA, and David (Bethany) Lee of Le Mars, IA; sister-in-law, Molly Lee of Cherokee, IA; 5 grandchildren: Katelyn Lee, Treyton Lee, Jadelyn Lee, Coleton Lee, and Lainey Lee; he is also survived by nieces; nephews; and many friends.
